Music Association Deseti brat was founded in 1993 in Crnuce by Franc Dolinar, Milan Jurejevcic, Janez Kukovica, Marjan Ortar, Metod Pecar, Igor Princic, Peter Repansek, Zdravko Skerjanec, Bojan Mivsek and Matija Potocnik. Their motto: listening to a good octet should leave one with a special kind of feeling and pleasure.

Numerous octets have been founded in Slovenia, many of them derive from different associations (hunter’s, firemen’), others come from stronger choirs (choral), some were even formed intentionally. Most octets held a few concerts, but some performed only once. However, this octet set itself very high goals, for they are certain that if they are prepared to give 120 per cent at the show, but fail to do so, they can still be at perform at least 100 per cent.
