Adi Smolar, one of Slovenian’s best songwriters and singers, had his first concert in 1981 in Cerknica, after he had been playing guitar for 2 years. Already then, his repertoire contained his own songs. What followed was a decade of more or less anonymous, but productive performances, result of which was a loyal audience (mostly young intellectuals and students) and many positive critics.
His first album was called "Nas svet se pa vrti" (1989). It was followed by numerous others, all very successful. As a songwriter he has written and composed many a song for other musicians.
