Maister trio is one of the very few Slovene clarinet trios, if not the only one. Even though the ensemble is relatively young, it has already held quite a few concerts. Soon they will be releasing their debut album, which will presumably contain pieces of some of Slovene’s most renowned composers. On Festival Lent they will be playing music by W. A. Mozart, J. Bouffil, Z. Ballata, A. Prinz, R. Kamplet, P. D’Rivera and S. Simat.

MATEJ GRAHEK is a solo flutist of Slovene philharmonics and a senior teacher at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana where he also completed his postgraduate studies under prof. Fedja Rupel. He pursued his education at the Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria. In the course of his studies he has won several first prized at the Competition of young musicians in Slovenia and ex-Yugoslavia. As a soloist he is performing with the Slovene Philharmonics, the Big Band RTV Slovenia, but he is also collaborating with various chamber ensembles from home and abroad (Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Spain, USA,…). So far he has recorded two CDs and has been awarded “Zlati petelin” prize for his “Opus di Jazz” for the best album of the year in the category “chamber music”.

MATEJA URBANC completed her secondary musical education in Celje. In 2004 she graduated at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. In 2003 she also furthered her education in Norway. She is currently working as professor of piano at the School of Music in Celje. Occasionally she is collaborating with various orchestras.
