An extremely popular vocal music ensemble in Slovenia, which has a long and rich tradition, is a male voice octet. Their musical and vocal balance is well-nigh perfect and their musicality pleases the audience at home and abroad. Octet was founded in 1973 and has held over 1300 concerts throughout Slovenia, Europe, North and South America. During that time it has been under the baton of a number of top musicians and conductors: Joze Ambroz (1973-1977), prof. Stanko Colnaric (1977 – 1982), mag. Branko Rajster (1982 – 1986), prof. Mitja Reichenberg (1986 – 1998), prof. Irena Ferk (od 1998 -2003) and is currently run by Franci Kovac. The Octet was awarded many prizes, released three albums so far and is set to go on an international tour.
